Scunnered: A Scots word used to mean that you are world weary, down-trodden, and thoroughly bereft of any lust for life when these words and expressions are simply too inadequate to signify the magnitude of your slide into “shitdom”.
After the Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Motherwell on Saturday, my confidence had taken a right good kicking but after Tuesday nights result down at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock, I am well and truly ‘scunnered.’
Coming from behind to lead the Ayrshire team 2-1 and then seeing them reduced to ten-men should have seen us realistically see this match out easily for all three points, but then our inability to kill off teams kicked in and we switched off and gift wrapped the points for Killie.
The management team and players need to have a long, good, hard look at themselves after this defeat despite question marks surrounding two of Kilmarnock’s three goals.
For their first goal, one of the Kilmarnock players was in an offside position and in my opinion impeding the goalkeepers view. Their second was shocking defending with Kris Boyd finding himself being a cluster of Dundee shirts.
