The club have enjoyed a fantastic season under Nuno Espirito Santo in his first season in charge and earned their spot in England’s top flight on Saturday with four games to go, writes Jamies Brassington.
They are now aiming to win the Championship title and are looking ahead to playing in the Premier League next season.
Wolves beat Birmingham City 2-0 at home on Sunday, thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Benik Afobe, in front of a packed Molineux where the promotion celebrations continued after full-time.
Reflecting on the win and the club’s achievement this past season, Doherty said: “It is just an unbelievable feeling around the club and it just makes all the hard work we have done over the past four or five years grafting in the Championship worthwhile.
“The sky is the limit for us now. I have been through two relegations and a promotion and a lot of downs, but it makes all that work worthwhile.
“To be in a team that is playing the brand of football that it is playing and securing promotion in such a manner with four weeks to go, it is an unbelievable feat.”
