Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata ready to sign new deal with Brendan Rodgers’ side

Dedryck Boyata is the latest Celtic player set for a new deal at the Parkhead club.

The 27-year-old is in talks about a contract extension with Brendan Rodgers‘ side and he has intimated that he sees is long-term future in Glasgow.

Like Tom Rogic, there is the possibility of World Cup football and the chance to appear in football’s biggest shop window this summer but the player is confident that his ambition of remaining at Celtic can be fulfilled.

“I am in talks with the club,” he said.

“I have said it before that I am happy here.

“Right now, nothing is done and it’s not like I can actually say what is going to be done.

“But I am in talks and we are trying to find some sort of arrangement.

“I am happy here. I have been talking a lot with the manager and trying to find a solution.

“I don’t want to say yes and then nothing happens later, but everything is just so positive.

“I am having a great time.”

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Craig Gordon was back training at Lennoxtown this week.
