With the January transfer now in full swing, Celtic have wrapped up three deals already. The Hoops do not look like they’re finished there though, so we’ve put together an update of some possible ins and outs that could still happen before deadline day at the end of the month.
Oliver Burke joined the Hoops on a six-month loan from West Brom to bolster Brendan Rodgers’ options in wide areas along with young sensation Timothy Weah joining on loan till the end of the season.
Celtic’s third deal of the month saw a permanent move for striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo for around £2 million from Slovakian side Dunajska Streda on a four-year contract.
With a new front three in the bag, it seems the focus will now turn to defensive matters for the team with a new right-back desperately needed to refresh the struggling Mikael Lustig and also a new centre-back to replace Dedryck Boyata who looks likely to leave when his contract expires in the summer.
Timothy Castagne – As reported at the start of the window, it seemed Celtic were keen to sign the Belgian international full-back who currently plies his trade in Serie A with Atalanta.
