Chelsea target rules out move to Stamford Bridge

By Ste Hoare Chelsea and Tottenham target Wilfried Zaha has committed his future to Crystal Palace by putting pen to paper on a new improved contract at the club. The Premier League side have confirmed that Zaha has signed a new deal that will keep him at Selhurst Park until 2023. Zaha’s new deal all but ends any speculation about a potential move away from the club in the near future. Both Chelsea and Tottenham were said to be very interested in signing the player during the summer transfer window, but both baulked at the club’s £70million asking price. Zaha is set to earn a reported £130,000 a week at the club from his new deal after not pushing for a move away. There were contrasting reports about the player’s future throughout the summer, claiming that he had rejected contract offers from the Eagles, but he has now put to paper on a new deal. Maurizio Sarri agrees to sell Chelsea star on permanent basis

By Ryan Darby Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri is ready to let Danny Drinkwater leave the club on a permanent basis before the end of the month. The Daily Star reports that Schalke, who had previously been linked with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, are keen to bring the player to Germany. Drinkwater had been tipped to leave on loan, but with the European window closing at the end of the month, a permanent move is appearing the most likely option for the former Leicester City ace, who wants to get his career back on track. After failing to break through at Chelsea under Antonio Conte, Drinkwater is set to fall further down the pecking order under Sarri. The arrivals of Matteo Kovacic and Jorginho, as well as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has also returned from his loan spell, make regular game time unlikely. It has already been well documented that Chelsea are happy to sell if they can recoup a large percentage of the fee they spent on the midfielder.
