Crystal Palace remain keen on to sign Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho on Permanent basis after last season loan spell, according to reports. The French centre-back has spent the second half of the 2016/17 campaign at Selhurst Park and was instrumental in the Eagles defence before getting injured. New Palace boss Frank de Boer is keen on for defensive reinforcements and thinking over re-signing Sakho, although The Mirror claims that they are refusing to meet Liverpool price tag. The Reds are only interested in selling Sakho on permanent basis and for that, they are demanding £30m. Palace are unwilling to spend that amount on Sakho, but the player himself is keen on to remain in Premier League despite interest from La Liga giants Sevilla. The Eagles have already signed centre-back Jairo Riedewald and have already started negotiations with Arsenal over Calum Chambers transfer to Selhurst Park. Sakho, meanwhile, remains surplus to requirements at Anfield after Jurgen Klopp has been disappointed with his professionalism. The 27-year-old centre-back is one of the best in his position in Premier League at the moment, however, Liverpool unlikely to receive a £30m offer from Crystal Palace for French star unless they lower their price. Liverpool head-coach Jurgen Klopp has claimed that their Premier League rivals Everton have done some “really good business” this summer after signing several quality players. Everton have sold their key player Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in a 75m deal, and invested that money and more in the transfer market as they have been the busiest clubs during this transfer window so far, Bringing the likes of Davy Klaassen Wayne Rooney, Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford amongst others as they look to fight for top four next season. Liverpool, in comparison, have broke club's transfer record with signing Mohamed Salah from Romal, Hull City's Andrew Robertson and Chelsea started Dominic Solanke. And Jurgen Klopp has praised Everton and their new signings. “Yes, I heard, of course, a few things that they have done. Strikers, good. Wayne Rooney, you don't have to talk about. The centre-half came. Good. So a lot of really good business. Klaassen. So it's all good,” he told reporters. “But, at the end of the day, just like us, they can only line up 11 players. Then we have to see what will happen. But all the teams have tried to get stronger.” [...]

Roy Evans described Liverpool's win as ‘kamikaze football' but Kevin Keegan, during his time as Newcastle's manager, helped to light up the Premier LeagueHistory is not always written by the winners. Manchester United were unquestionably the best team in the land in 1996; they proved it by landing the league and Cup Double. The triumphant return of Eric Cantona, the flowering of the Class of '92, you can't win anything with kids, all that … there is plenty to go on. And yet this particular story is not theirs to tell.Occasionally the narrative is dominated by those who fell short. And that year there was clearly something in the air. Germany emerged triumphant at the European Championship, a tournament principally remembered for England's dreaming, their 31st year of hurt. In golf the Green Jacket was draped around Nick Faldo's shoulders at the Masters, the great man's third win, an achievement back then bettered only by Jack and Arnie, though all everyone has talked about ever since is Greg Norman's view-through-fingers collapse. And as for the Premiership … Related: Premier League at 25: the best player – Eric Cantona | Paul Doyle As long as football matches end up like this, [...]
