Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has signed a new four year deal at the club to keep him at Elland Road until 2021, according to the clubs official site. Ayling has established himself as one of the clubs most consistent players over the last 14 months since his 2016 summer arrival from fellow Championship outfit Bristol City. He is the only member of the Leeds squad to feature in every single game in all competitions this season, emphasising the importance of the 26 year-old to the the Whites squad. The nature of his performances were particularly shown as Ayling captained the club for the first time this season in the Carabao Cup tie at home to Port Vale. Leeds went onto win 4-1 in his first game as captain. He joins a long list of first team players at Leeds who have committed their long term futures to the club. These include the likes of Ronaldo Vieria, Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper, Stuart Dallas, Eunan O'Kane and Gaetano Berardi. Here is how the Leeds United fans reacted to the news of Ayling's new deal: Love this. Guys Leeds now. So obvious he's got Leeds in him & bought into our dreams. Everything about Ayling is good. Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has penned a new 4 year deal at the club, keeping him at Elland Road till 2021, according to the official club site. Ayling has established himself as one of Leeds' most consistent players over the last year, and his efforts haven't gone unnoticed. He has started every game this season for the Whites, including all of the clubs three Carabao Cup ties so far. The 26-year-old began his career at Arsenal. He joined the club at the age of 10 years old, but never made an appearance for the clubs first team. In the latter stages of his spell at the Gunners, he joined Yeovil Town on loan for two months. Upon his contract expiry at Arsenal, he joined Yeovil on a permanent deal after a successful loan spell at the club. He made 184 appearances for the Glovers, and was part of the famous Yeovil side who won promotion to the second tier of English football for the first time in their history. Yeovil went onto get relegated in their first year in the Championship, and Ayling rejected the offer of a new deal at Huish Park. He joined Bristol City on a three-year deal for [...]

He was probably the only player left in and around the first-team who hadn't signed a deal with the club this summer but that changed today, as favourite Luke Ayling penned a new deal with the club that will keep him here until July 2021. The deal is significant as the club have tied down many of the first-team regulars and potential talent at the club and Luke Ayling certainty falls into the category of being extremely important. In a very young side Ayling is a crucial senior member and one that we probably wouldn't like to do without. He is now the vice captain at the club and has been one of the bargains for the club in recent history. Leeds paid just under £1 million for Ayling which, in today's market is a steal and the right-back hasn't looked back since. He has nailed down the right-back spot and has barely missed a minute of any game since he took over the right-back spot from Gaetano Berardi. The new deal is yet another long-term issue sorted out by Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani. There are now no obvious issues with deals at the club at all, the youngsters are all [...]

Aston Villa's unbeaten run came to an abrupt end last Saturday evening after they were easily beaten by local rivals Wolves. It was a very poor performance by Villa at the Molineux, but having picked up 12 points from the last 15 available, there is definitely no need to panic just yet. After twelve matches, they currently sit seventh in the table, just a solitary point outside the play-off places, and five away from automatic promotion. Next up for Villa is a tricky home match against Fulham, who sit just two places behind Villa on 18 points. The Cottagers have been one of the better teams in the Championship for a few seasons now, and Villa will know that another performance like the one they put in last weekend will more than likely see them fall to another defeat. Jack Grealish completed another step towards mach fitness on Monday night as he turned out for Aston Villa's under-23 side. The young star has not played for the senior side this season due to a kidney injury picked up in a pre-season friendly against Watford. But you knew all that, what we don't know is how Jack fits into Bruce's current team. Grealish is arguably the most naturally gifted player in the squad, he has the rare ability of being able to go past defenders without pace. He can score from anywhere and he plays with his head up which allows him to spot his team mates forward runs. To add to this, he has the passing range to get the ball to them. Again you knew all that and the question is still unanswered. The answer then, is that he doesn't, as long as Bruce keeps playing 4-4-2 at least. So to play Greaslish, Villa will have to change their system, again. So that answers that, but raises another more complicated question of should the system be changed to fit Grealish in ? The obvious answer is no, Villa have won 4 out of 5 with this formation but is it [...]

Gunn, on-loan from Manchester City, is set to start against Ipswich – his first senior clash against the Suffolk-based side. The shot-stopper previously played in the derby at youth level – earlier in his career in the Norwich academy – but is now ready for the ‘real' thing. There have been some good and some bad ones, but hopefully we can make Sunday a good one. The week leading up is always a big thing. We've spoken about it in the dressing room and everyone is looking forward to the game. All the lads can see what it's about so we're just eager to get onto the pitch now. Leeds had the whole international break to change the way they play to stop the predictability of recent performances. Sadly, they didn't do that. We've lost three games in a row with little sign of life. It's time for a change in formation and this is the team I'd go forward with for away games: GK – Andy Lonergan – He looked far more composed than Felix has done and as long as he doesn't make any silly mistakes, he should keep the role for some time. Championship duo Birmingham City and Preston North End are set to battle it out to sign Motherwell striker Louis Moult in January, according to the Birmingham Mail. Scottish side Motherwell would apparently consider a bid of around £650,000. Their rivals Rangers and Hibernian are also keeping tabs on the in-demand striker along with Birmingham and Preston. Moult, 25, started his career with Stoke City but only ever made one senior appearance for the Potters. He had various loan spells at Bradford City, Accrington Stanley, Mansfield Town and Alfreton Town before joining Northampton Town on a permanent basis in 2012. Moult struggled to establish himself in the Northampton first-team and left after a just a season to join non-league side Nuneaton Town. In the 2013/14 season, Moult scored 17 goals which earned him a move to Wrexham in 2014. He bagged 16 goals for them in the Conference (now the National League) in his one season with the club and moved up to Scotland to join Motherwell in 2015. He has scored 35 goals in 78 games for Motherwell. Motherwell apparently rejected a bid from Aberdeen for Moult in the summer. To say I am a little apprehensive about the impending Sunday fixture is an understatement, to the point I can barely bring myself to mention the team name. An irrational fear? A superstition? Perhaps. But I just feel they ‘owe us one'. While Norwich's start to the season was bleak, those I dare not mention hit the ground running and quickly gained a nine point lead, which led to us being on the receiving end of a revival of the infamous “mind the gap” picture. Back then we had nothing to brag about after seeing our own side getting spanked 4-0 at Millwall, with our defence a shambles and the disjointed midfield leaving us wide open for counter attacks. After conceding the players frankly looked like 'rabbits in headlights' and seemed to combust. The outlook was gloomy, just like the results, and we certainly had earned the Along Came Norwich tag. The international break couldn't have come at a better time and allowed the players and coach to dust themselves down and realise the current system was not working. The board also acted quickly in the last few days of the transfer window and did their bit to address the glaring defensive issue. In truth I'm [...]

Manchester United forward James Wilson is very keen to move out in the January transfer window to prove his fitness. The 21-year-old spent significant time on the sidelines having injured his ligament when he was on a loan spell at Derby County. He was one of the in-demand players in the summer but he chose to stay back with the Red Devils to continue his rehabilitation. But now, he has regained his full fitness and wants to test himself in a different platform to prove his worth. Currently, this path to the first team is blocked by the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial and this could be the main reason why he wants a temporary exit from the club. Leeds United have been pursuing the player and his interest to leave the club could give Thomas Christiansen a food for thought. Leeds' shining start to the season has given the supporters a reason to cheer this term but recent form has left them in a lurching position following their three straight defeats. Christiansen would be needing some quality players in January and he could opt for the Red Devils' striker. Wilson has a good scoring record at this age and could [...]

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Massimo Luongo is unlikely to favour a move to the club's Sky Bet Championship rivals Nottingham Forest according to Get West London. The 25-year-old Australian international midfielder has been linked with a move to The City Ground in recent months after some impressive showings at Loftus Road. Despite the possible interest in the player from Forest boss Mark Warburton, it has been reported that Luongo is very settled in London and enjoying his football meaning that it would be highly unlikely that the midfielder would be looking to leave The R's in the near future. Luongo moved to England six-and-a-half years ago when Tottenham Hotspur snapped the player up from Australian minnows APIA Leichhardt Tigers. The midfielder made just one League Cup appearance for Spurs and was loaned out to Ipswich Town and Swindon Town (twice). In August 2013, the player joined The Robins on a permanent deal and Luongo went on to make 104 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals. Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has confirmed that the club will have striker Matty Taylor available for selection for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship ‘top six' clash with Leeds United at Ashton Gate according to the Bristol Post. The 27-year-old Oxford born hotshot has suffered an injury plagued start to the season which has restricted the player to just six outings for The Robins in which he has scored one goal. Taylor's latest setback came in the form of a slight ankle injury but The Robins boss Johnson has confirmed that the player is back to full fitness and can face Leeds United at the weekend. The striker signed for Bristol City in January after the club met a £300,000 automatic buyout clause in his contract with bitter rivals Bristol Rovers. Taylor has taken some time to find his feet at Ashton Gate and the player netted just two goals in 15 appearances for his new club last season. The player will be hoping to finally hit a run of form for The Robins starting with the match against sixth placed Leeds United on Saturday. Reports in the German media have confirmed that Pierre-Michel Lasogga is disappointed with Leeds United's current form in the Sky Bet Championship. Lasogga arrived at Elland Road on-loan on transfer deadline day, when Leeds were still unbeaten in the Championship. The striker's first two appearances for the Whites saw him score two goals and add two assists, as Thomas Christiansen's side moved to the top of the table with victories over Burton Albion and Birmingham City. Since then, Leeds have lost four of five Championship fixtures, a run of results that has seen Christiansen's side slide from the top of the table to sixth in just a matter of weeks. Lasogga, 25, has expressed his disappointment at Leeds' current form in the German media. The Whites' most recent defeat came against Reading at Elland Road on Saturday, with Christiansen opting to replace Lasogga in the 77th minute despite going in search of a goal. Leeds took a break from Championship action during the week, but will return this Saturday when they travel to Ashton Gate to face an in-form Bristol City. The Robins currently sit fourth in the table, and are one of the five teams currently above Christiansen's side. The Verdict Lasogga [...]

Leeds City Council have confirmed that they have opened talks with Leeds United over the development of new training facilities for the Sky Bet Championship outfit. It was announced last week that Leeds were planning to leave their Thorp Arch training facility in Wetherby, and move to a central location closer to Elland Road and Leeds City Centre. The Council have now confirmed that talks with Leeds will take place, after they approved recommendations. Leeds' plans involve a new training facility, which will be located where the Matthew Murray High School once stood close to the club's Elland Road stadium. Andrea Radrizzani also has confirmed plans to open a Community Sports Village at Fullerton Park, which is situated directly next to Elland Road. The potential new facilities are part of Leeds' plans to become a top Premier League club in the coming years under the guide of Radrizzani, who has also bought back Elland Road since completing his takeover. Leeds currently sit sixth in the Championship table after 12 fixtures of the season. Thomas Christiansen's side head to Bristol City at the weekend, with the Whites looking to end a three game losing streak. The Verdict This is an exciting update for all associated [...]

U23 Professional Development League Team: Lumley, Kakay, Hamalainen, Hall, Phillips, Wallen, Smyth, Cousins, Grego-Cox, Akinola, Shodipo Sub Not Used: Herdman I met up with Alan Barnes and Keith Davies at Charing Cross and despite some earlier disruption, due to over-running engineering works we arrived at the stadium in plenty of time. After a few minutes, a solid challenge on Olamide Shodipo resulted in the ball going behind. His superbly taken corner found a well-placed Grant Hall, whose header was cleared off the line by Aaron Barnes. It was the Addicks who took the lead in the 13th minute when a good through ball found Terrique Anderson, who continued with pace into the box and then placed his shot into the corner of the net. The R's captain, Josh Wallen, was booked for a strong challenge, which didn't satisfy some of the home fans around us who were screaming for a red? Rangers were forcing a number of corners and Grant Hall's goal-bound header, was smothered by Jordan Beeney. The visitors went close when a deep cross, floated over from the right-wing, bounced off the crossbar. But on 34 minutes it was the home side who went 2-0 up after Josh Wallen had given the ball away. A low cross [...]

Bristol City face Leeds United on Saturday and it will be familiar territory for one Whites player. Luke Ayling is returning to the club that he enjoyed two successful seasons with in what is a massive game for both sides. They are both in the play-offs and will be looking to bounce back from disappointing results last time out. However, Robins boss Lee Johnson doesn't anticipate a hostile welcome for the defender from the Ashton Gate crowd. Speaking to the media ahead of the game, he said; “Luke Ayling has done very well at Leeds and I'm sure he'll get a great reception.” It's not the first time the defender has been back to his old club, having played in the fixture last season. Leeds fell to a 1-0 defeat that day thanks to a goal from Marlon Pack. Ayling himself will be looking to get back out on the pitch to end Leeds' poor run. The right-back was at fault as the Yorkshire club fell to a 1-0 loss at home to Reading which made it three defeats in a row. However, he has proven himself to be one of the best in the league since his move from Bristol [...]

Premier League side Everton are interested in a move for Wolves defender Ruben Vinagre, who is currently on loan from AS Monaco, according to the Daily Mail. The 18 year-old left-back has impressed for Wolves since joining from the French champions on loan in the summer. He is also apparently being monitored by Arsenal and Manchester United as well as Everton. Vinagre is a player who Wolves would like to tie up on a permanent deal. He has broken into the first-team at Molineux, playing 6 games and scoring 1 goal. Wolves have made a great start to the Championship season under Nuno Espirito Santo. They are currently top of the league having won 8 games in 12. They heavily invested in their squad in the summer, most notably spending £16 million on FC Porto midfielder Ruben Neves and their new look squad have not disappointed. They are many people's favourites for the Championship title this season. Wolves fans will be hoping they can tie up Ruben Vinagre on a permanent deal with the likes of Everton interested. They will also be hoping they can sign Atletico Madrid loanee Diogo Jota on a permenant deal too. They have been recently linked with a £14 [...]

Aston Villa are interested in a move for Polish goalkeeper Mikolaj Bieganski, according to ESPN. Bieganki, who is only 15 years-old, plays for Polish third division side Skra Czestochowa. He is also attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United. The youngster is touted as one of the best young talents in Poland. He has broken into the first-team at Skra Czestochowa and caught the eye playing for Poland U16s. It is expected that he will move to England in the next year or so. Championship side Aston Villa are interested in bringing him to Villa Park. Their manager Steve Bruce is already looking for potential targets for the January transfer window. They see Bieganski as a possible addition to their youth ranks. You get the impression that a move to Aston Villa will suit Bieganski more than a move to the Premier League. He will have more of a chance of breaking into the first-team at Villa than he would at Spurs or Manchester United. Villa are expected to sign a goalkeeper or two in January. They have recently been linked with a move for Aberdeen goalkeeper Joe Lewis in recent days. After a slow start to the season Steve Bruce has managed to [...]

Three defeats on the bounce has had many Leeds supporters questioning whether the bubble has already burst for Thomas Christensen and his men. A disappointing 1-0 home loss to Jaap Stam's erratic Reading side left Whites fans frustrated, after Pablo Hernandez fluffed a last-gasp spot kick to earn a point. They were somewhat unconvincing, even in their last victory — a 3-2 win over Mick McCarthy's Ipswich. Their promotion odds have already been lengthened by BetStars to 10/3, while the Wolverhampton Wanderers are currently BetStars' favourites to secure a return to the top flight at 4/9, following their recent 2-0 success over local rivals Aston Villa. So, is it a case of déjà vu? Will United simply slip away disappointingly from promotion contention and watch local rivals like Sheffield United battle it out for a place in the top flight? If reports are correct, Christensen might also have to sharpen up on his player management skills regarding on-loan Hamburg striker, Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who is said to be increasingly frustrated at his side's inability to keep pace with the leaders of the division (Wolves). The 25-year-old German has certainly made a good start to life at Elland Road, but it's unlikely that Christensen [...]

With Leeds falling to another miserable defeat on Saturday at home to Reading, it's highly expected that we'll see changes at the club. With this Saturday's trip to Bristol firmly in the mind of Thomas Christiansen, changes in the lineup will surely be a major factor in his mind. The squad that faced Reading lacked any mental or physical strength and players like Lasogga and Hernandez can no longer hide behind a good run of form. If Leeds are to correct the ships course in good time, now is the moment to do it. With the club only being six points behind leaders Wolves, a good run into Christmas can keep the Whites in the chase for promotion. If changes are to be made, TC may look to fringe players like Hadi Sacko or Stuart Dallas to come in from the cold and make a difference. Both wingers have been used as effective substitutes this season and the away fixture against a well performing Bristol could be the perfect time to change things about. Sacko's pace and Dallas' technical ability will surely cause a stir at Ashton Gate and could be the perfect mixture providing [...]
