According to the Sun's Mike McGrath and Alan Nixon, West Ham forward Ashley Fletcher is flying home from the Hammers' German training camp to sign for Middlesbrough. According to the duo of reporters, and reported elsewhere, Boro have put in an eye-watering £7 million bid for Fletcher – a bid accepted by the Premier League side. McGrath and Nixon say that Fletcher “insists he wants to stay”, yet would face dropping down the order at the London Stadium. The Hammers have struck big deals that have brought in much more tried and tested strikers in Marko Arnautovic and former Manchester United and Real Madrid man Javier Hernandez, the latter on a £16 million deal. Keighley-born Fletcher signed for West Ham after running down his Manchester United contract following a successful half-season loan spell at Barnsley. The former Manchester United youngster made 16 appearances (two starts) for the Hammers in the Premier League last season without scoring. He was more successful in the Premier League 2 reserve competition, playing 10 times, scoring three goals and setting up two assists. According to reports coming out of West Ham, multiple clubs have made enquiries about Robert Snodgrass, including Leeds and Celtic. It's been well reported that Snodgrass isn't seen as being in Slaven Bilić's plans and it seems as though his future may be away from the Premier League all together. It will be a hard signing to make happen for Leeds, with Celtic being able to offer much bigger wages along with the Scottish factor that may influence Snodgrass. However, as we wrote before, Leeds should go all out for Snodgrass if it is at all possible. Leeds have made many exciting signings so far, although many are unproven. Snodgrass would offer proven talent at this level and would improve us a mass amount. We'd also be blessed with attacking options for the first time in many years and some goals from midfield would be useful. What do you think, would you take Snodgrass back at Leeds? Let us know! Leeds are once again being linked with Swedish international centre back Filip Helander ahead of the new season. The Bologna man has only recently joined Bologna on a permanent deal but the Italian side are said to be willing to let him go now they have strengthened in that area. It has become clear we are interested in the player but the fee may well be a deterrent. Rumours are that the Serie A side want around £5 million but there has also been fees of a lower £3.5 million mentioned. There has been no solid sources to say a deal is being discussed, just strong links again today that Leeds are still interested in the deal. Helander will want to leave if he isn't in the first-team plans and the fact that a man he knows very well would potentially be his partner may well appeal to him, that man of course his international team-mate, Pontus Jansson. However the pair were also team mates at Swedish side Malmo FF, where Helander played over 70 times for the club. A centre back is still a priority, along with a left back and striker and Helander would be a player more than capable [...]

Leeds United are interested in signing Burton Albion's Jackson Irvine, according to HITC Sport. The 24-year-old, born and raised in Australia, moved to the UK in 2010 to join Celtic as a youngster following a successful trial period. However, Irvine failed to break into the first-team in Glasgow and made just one professional appearance in a Scottish Premiership fixture against Hibernian. The midfielder left Celtic Park for Ross County in 2015 and it was there that Irvine made his name for himself in Scotland. The Australian made 45 appearances in his single season at the Scottish Premiership side as the Staggies won the Scottish League Cup. His success north of the border earned Irvine a move to the Championship with Burton Albion last summer in a club-record £330,000 deal. The midfielder's fine performances continued at the Pirelli Stadium as the Australian international set the Championship alight. Irvine accumulated 43 appearances in his debut season in England and bagged an impressive ten goals, including a 90th-minute winner against now-Premier League Huddesfield Town. Jackson Irvine, who won the Brewers' Player of the Year, proved his qualities last term which generated a lot of attraction in the midfielder's availability. Reports now state that Leeds United are lining [...]

Last night was the first chance for fans to have a good look at some of the new faces that have arrived in the academy and development squad and it was interesting to see the blend with local and more well-known faces already here. Trialists took to the field along with the likes of Romario Vieira and Jack Mckay. On the bench were new men Alejandro Machuca and Adrain Balboa, the latter arriving from Barcelona's under 19 side. The first half was pretty even and Carlos Corberan was very vocal on the touchline throughout, constantly on the side of the pitch roaring instructions to his new team. The most interesting of them was after a wayward shot from the Leeds left back, which he didn't like. He shouted “No, no” making it very clear he wanted the ball passed wide in that situation. Tadcaster went a goal up, Paudie O'Connor unable to stop a nice through ball and the striker swept home. The second half first saw the introduction of Jamie Shackleton, among others before both Adrian Balboa and Alex Machuca came on. The right back, Gotts grew into the game and with Machuca now dominating the ball with powerful and clever [...]

Leeds United have announced via their official website that the club have sold more season tickets than ever for a Championship campaign, with there still 17 days until the first home game at Elland Road against Preston North End. It is believed that the club have sold around 17,800 season tickets so far for the upcoming season, the most the club have ever sold for a Championship season. The Kop and the increasingly popular South Stand have completely sold out through season tickets, with the club now making the famous Cheese Wedge (South East corner) available for season tickets because of the increased demand. Season tickets are also available in the Family Stand (East Stand) as they have been for a number of campaigns; with the season tickets averaging out at around £21 per game for adults and just £3 per game for under 11's. Last season the club sold around 15,000 season tickets, which were boosted because of the initiative set by the club; which was that 25% of the season ticket would be refunded if the club failed to miss out on the play-offs, which proved to be the case. Crowds at Elland Road last term averaged at 27,699- with the [...]

Leeds have been one of the busiest clubs in the whole of the Football League this summer, with a total of 9 signings being made so far. Current player Pontus Jansson has signed a contract to keep him at the club, and loanee Hadi Sacko has signed a permanent deal, as well as Felix Wiedwald, Matthew Pennington, Mateusz Klich, Vurnon Anita, Samuel Saiz, Ezgjan Alioski, and Caleb Ekuban all arriving at Elland Road. However, it appears the Yorkshire club are not done there, with links and rumours to numerous players still floating around, and although youngster Matthew Pennington has arrived, centre backs are still in short supply at Elland Road, especially when you consider that Jansson is suspended at the start of the season, meaning that subsequently, many of the rumoured players are centre backs. Aden Flint is one of these rumours. The Bristol City defender has been linked with the club for a while, and now numerous sources and journalists are reporting that the link is genuine, and the Daily Express reported that Leeds have made a bid for the defender, but what do Leeds fans think of the links? Many Leeds fans are hoping that it's a transfer the club can get [...]

Serie A club Bologna are willing to listen to offers for Filip Helander, the Swedish centre-back. Leeds seemingly made an offer for the player sometime back around the £3.5m margin which wasn't impressive enough to get a deal done. As of late, the focus seemed to be on Aden Flint, the centre-back at Bristol City. However, it seems that may all have been a smokescreen so people were not focused on their number one target, Helander. Leeds signed Matthew Pennington from Everton last week, but it is thought that he'll be the third centre-back to start with, presuming Leeds manage to land Helander or another target. The price for Flint was seen as round £4-6m which seems like a ripoff when you could get Swedish international Helander who is also four years younger, for a similar price. We know Pontus Jansson would be happy with his former Malmo teammate joining the whites, but would you? Let us know in the comments! [...]

Lee Johnson has confirmed that Bristol City are yet to receive bids for any of their key players, reports the Bristol Post. The future of both Aden Flint and Joe Bryan has been speculated in recent weeks, with Leeds United reportedly keen to add the duo to their squad ahead of the Sky Bet Championship campaign. However, Johnson has denied that Bristol have received bids for any players this summer, he said: “Obviously there's been speculation about a couple of ours going out but at the moment I can categorically tell you that we've had no bids as we speak, to my knowledge. “It does get frustrating when you hear that but we'll have to see. You're still at the mercy of the money being spent in the Championship. Not only in transfer fees but on wages on offer to the boys.” Johnson will be desperate to keep Flint and Bryan at Ashton Gate this summer, particularly after the impact the duo had last season, when helping the Robins maintain their Championship status. 28-year-old Flint was a rock in central defence for Bristol, making 53 appearances across all competitions, including every fixture of the Championship campaign. Bryan was equally impressive at left-back, featuring in 44 [...]

Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen has brought a number of new faces to Elland Road this summer, as he prepares his side for another crack at breaking into the top six and finally achieving the return to the Premier League, Whites fans so desperately crave. Foreign imports have been the order of business, with the likes of Ezgjan Alioski, Samuel Saiz and Caleb Ekuban linking up with the West Yorkshire outfit in the past few weeks, but the most important transfer pulled off by the club this year is undoubtedly the permanent capture of defender, Pontus Jansson. The Swede spent last season on loan at the club, and became instrumental as Garry Monk's men just missed out on a play-off spot. Leeds actually made Jansson's transfer permanent in February, but was coveted by a number of clubs this summer once the deal with former club Torino had gone through. The 13 cap international was wanted by a number of European outfits, but convincing him to stay will ultimately prove to be the most important turning point of Leeds' summer. The Championship Team of the Season representative is a dominant force at the back, and his leadership inspired the club to their excellent run last season. Alongside [...]

Leeds United have been extremely active in this summer's transfer window, shaking up their playing squad, ahead of what they hope, will be another push for promotion in the Sky Bet Championship. There is still one area that Leeds' supporters want to see their club strengthen this summer, with the Whites' options in central defence looking limited. Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper offer capable options, whilst the addition of Matthew Pennington has added further quality. However, Leeds' supporters want to see a more experienced, marquee signing made by Thomas Christiansen, to fill the gap left by Kyle Bartley, who returned to Swansea City following a spell on-loan at Elland Road last season. Leeds have reportedly received between £6-7m from Charlie Taylor's move to Burnley, which has led to supporters calling for that money to be reinvested in the club's defence. Supporters have made it clear that they want Bartley to return to Elland Road, and are encouraging their club to make a move for the 26-year-old defender… Similar amount to a certain CB from Swansea???? — Michael Williams (@michaelw999) July 25, 2017 ???? The month's between May and July usually are never quiet at Leeds and this year followed a regular routine. An old Head Coach dispatched after a season, new one brought in after a multitude of names had been thrown 'into the hat'. It was arrivderci Massimo Cellino and ciao Andrea Radrizzani as the two Italians agreed the sale of Leeds United FC, no figure given but rumoured to be quite a few quid! The ground bought back for a considerable amount of money, just short of 20 million pounds if we are to believe the rumours. Finally an owner (Radrizzani) who did what others had promised but failed to do, he put his money where his mouth was! The new owner then brought in trusted allies to help him run the club, Angus Kinnear as Chief Executive, Ivan Bravo as Director of Strategy, Andre Tegner a Director and Victor Orta the new Director of Football. Ben Mansford left the club as part of the restructure. Thomas Christiansen is now in the Head Coach's chair, the latest in a long line of people given the opportunity to take Leeds United to the next level. He is [...]
