The Wolverhampton Wanderers defender chalked up his first goal of the season at the weekend. Wolves ace Barry Douglas sat down for an exclusive interview with the Express & Star, and shared what he told his teammates about Conor Coady, before the centre-back scored his first goal of the season against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday. The 25-year-old has been a revelation for the Black Country outfit this season, after being converted from a midfielder into a central defender by Nuno Espirito Santo. Most of his fine work has been done inside his own half, however, after failing to score a single goal for [...]

According to local football journalist Tim Spiers, Diogo Jota could be set to join an elite group of attackers if he scores two more goals this season. Tim Spiers, of The Express and Star, has revealed that only three strikers have struck 20 goals in a season for Wolves since Steve Bull retired. Jota has bagged 18 for the campaign so far with two matches remaining. If he nets another two goals, he will become the fourth player to reach this feat since Steve Bull left Wolves in 1999. Dean Sturridge, uncle of England striker Daniel Sturridge, was the first person to hit 20 [...]

Wolves secured promotion to the Premier League earlier this month and they have now won the Championship as well. Key midfielder Ruben Neves took to Twitter to share his joy with the fans but it seems that the Wolves faithful are worried about losing him this summer. The Portuguese midfielder has been sensational for Wolves all season and losing him would be a devastating blow. Neves has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the recent weeks and it is understandable why the Wolves fans are worried. Despite their resources, Liverpool are a much bigger club and most players would want to [...]

Wolves won the Championship title in style on Saturday with a thumping 4-0 win over lowly Bolton in what was a very impressive showing from Nuno Espirito Santo's men. After a frenetic start that saw both sides spurn decent chances, Wolves took the lead through Barry Douglas and didn't look back, with Benik Afobe, Diogo Jota and Connor Coady completing the rout. However, that first goal was critical and once again it was Douglas who delivered for the Black Country side in a tight moment. He was quickest to react after Afobe's effort was saved to grab his fifth goal of the season. Those [...]

Only 2,589 tickets have been made available for Wolves fans – which were quickly snapped up. Wolves took almost double that number to Bolton on Saturday and the Express & Star understands the club have made more than one request to Sunderland for extra tickets for the final-day May 6 clash. The Stadium of Light has a capacity of 49,000 and the club's average home attendance this season is 27,500. However Sunderland – who were relegated to League One on Saturday – don't want to move their season ticket holders to accommodate extra Wolves fans. They explored other options but say it would be [...]

Should Leeds United look at Wolverhampton Wanderers‘ Leo Bonatini, if Wolves don't sign him up? Wolverhampton Wanderers booked their promotion to the Premier League this past weekend with a 4-0 demolition of Bolton Wanderers. It had been a long time coming for Wolves and, after winning the Championship, Nuno Espirito Santo will already have one eye on this summer's transfer window. There will be incomings, which means there will be outgoings and one man who would do well to get a permanent deal is Leo Bonatini. The Brazilian striker, 24, has done his bit in helping Wolves to the top flight, scoring 12 goals, [...]
